Excel course

train the trainers
summary: I created courses for trainers to use when instructing teachers how to integrate technology in the classroom. The courses included a PowerPoint presentation, student handout with reference links, detailed instructor agenda, student agenda, evaluations, and examples. Contact me for a copy of the student handout.

Peer Coaching video
The Puget Sound Center and Microsoft are currently using a video I produced to demonstrate how peer coaches work together. Charles Sturt University, in Australia, is also incorporating the video into their Graduate Certificate program in Information Communication Technology Education.

young students: the brain unit
summary: This project was developed by me for sixth grade students studying brains disorders. The purpose of the project is for students to research disorders that they may encounter (such as attention deficit, anorexia, or autism), in order to develop an understanding and empathy for individuality. Students created their choice of a PowerPoint, poster, or iMovie to present their findings and teach the class. Students were offered PowerPoint slide presentations with directions on hidden slides in order to support good organization habits. Differentiation included the ability for students with writing difficulties to create a podcast of their final project.

meetings
summary: This was information I created for a school district meeting, January, 2006. The purpose of the meeting was to find the connections between literacy and technology teaching strategies and student learning. I adapted Regie Routman's "Optimal Learning Model Across the Curriculum" to the learning spectrum of teachers using technology in the classroom, for school district leaders to understand the connection. This pivotal piece helped district curriculum leaders see the connections as well as the continuum of technology and literacy strategies, and how together, they enhance teacher instruction and ultimately, student learning.
